Actor Na In Woo has addressed his 'military exemption' status.
On the afternoon of the 17th, his agency Hanada Company told The Daily Sports, "It is true that Na In Woo became exempt while waiting for his summons as a social service worker," adding, "After receiving a Grade 4 supplementary service classification, he was waiting for further notification from the Military Manpower Administration (MMA). However, after three years passed, he was informed that he qualified for an exemption."
Previously, a media outlet reported that Na In Woo had been exempted while waiting for his summons as a social service worker. He had been classified as Grade 4 in the military physical examination and was awaiting his enlistment, but due to not receiving a summons from the MMA within three years, he automatically became eligible for exemption.
According to the Military Service Act, individuals who receive a Grade 4 supplementary service classification and remain unsummoned for three years are granted a 'military exemption.' Since 2019, over 10,000 individuals have reportedly received this exemption, with approximately 10,000 more receiving the same disposition this year. Na In Woo is said to be among those included on the list.
Meanwhile, Na In Woo is set to appear in MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Motel California,' which premieres on January 10. 'Motel California' is a romance drama set in a rural motel, following the story of a female protagonist who was born and raised there. She reunites with her first love in her hometown, which she fled 12 years ago, leading to a series of ups and downs as they 'remodel' their first love.
