2024 has been a landmark year for K-pop, celebrating long-awaited returns of legendary artists like 2NE1, G-Dragon, and BIGBANG, as well as exciting new releases from both established K-pop acts and promising rookies. However, like every year in this fast-moving industry, 2024 also witnessed the disbandment of several K-pop groups, including some beloved boy groups.

While disbandments are always a bittersweet moment for fans, they often mark the new beginnings for the members involved. Whether pursuing solo music careers or debuting with other groups, acting, or other entertainment ventures, the talent of these members will continue to resonate with fans. Here’s a look at the K-pop boy groups that disbanded this year:

MIRAE

Debuting under DSP Media in 2021, MIRAE was a promising boy group that gained a loyal following. The group officially disbanded on July 9, 2024, following the termination of contracts of six out of the seven members. Only Son Dong Pyo remains with DSP Media, continuing his individual activities.

TFN

Formerly known as T1419, TFN was a boy group under MLD Entertainment. They debuted in 2021 and, after a few years of activity, officially disbanded on February 29, 2024. The decision came after the members collectively agreed to end their exclusive contracts with the agency.

VROMANCE

Vromance, a vocal boy group formed by RBW in 2016, disbanded after eight years together. On September 19, 2024, the group announced their decision to go their separate ways and end their activities as a group, marking the end of an era for their fans.

AQA

AQA, a lesser-known group that debuted in 2022 under Startree, never quite achieved mainstream success. On March 24, 2024, their agency confirmed the group’s disbandment after just two years of activity.

BLACK LEVEL

BLACK LEVEL was a six-member boy group under VT Entertainment that debuted in 2022. They are assumed to have disbanded in 2024 due to prolonged inactivity, though an official announcement was never made.

Celest1a

Celest1a, a rookie group that debuted in July 2024 under Birdman, had a very short-lived career. After just a few months together, the group announced their disbandment on November 1, 2024, with all members posting farewell letters on the same day.

JJCC

Formed by Jackie Chan Group Korea in 2014, JJCC was initially seen as a promising boy group. On May 6, 2024, they announced their disbandment on an Instagram story, noting they hadn’t been together for a long time and decided to terminate their contracts to pursue their own paths.

JWiiver

JWiiver, a seven-member boy group under Starweave Entertainment, debuted in 2022. On January 11, 2024, member Raots confirmed via an Instagram story that the group had disbanded and was no longer active.

MEGAMAX

MEGAMAX was a K-pop boy group under the label Inmedia. They debuted in 2021 and went through lineup changes before finally disbanding quietly sometime in 2024. A former staff member confirmed the disbandment.

TAN

TAN, a project boy group formed through the MBC survival show ‘Wild Idol,’ debuted in 2022 under Think Entertainment. On June 29, 2024, member Chanson announced the disbandment on the group's fan cafe. He also declared his departure from the idol industry, stepping down as leader.

The CrewOne

Comprised of members from ATBO and JUST B, The CrewOne was a project group under IST Entertainment. They participated in the survival show ‘Road to Kingdom: Ace of Ace’ and concluded their activities after the show’s end.

XEED

XEED was a K-pop boy group under Nature Space. Debuted in 2022, they initially gained attention with a line-up of older idols. Last year XEED went through a lineup change, and on March 22, 2024, their agency announced that the group would be disbanding on April 8.

The disbandment of these K-pop boy groups in 2024 marks the end of a significant chapter in the lives of both the groups and their dedicated fans.
