Actress Gong Hyo Jin recently shared her experience of a three-car collision that left her with serious injuries.
On December 24, she uploaded a video titled "What Does Hyo Jin’s Christmas Look Like?" to her YouTube channel where she reminisced about the incident and expressed gratitude to a long-time friend who supported her during that challenging time.
In the video, Gong Hyo Jin enjoyed a meal and spent time catching up with a close friend she has known for over 20 years. She shared "We used to model together," and added, "When we were 18, we would go to magazine shoots wearing our school uniforms."
Describing their enduring friendship, Gong Hyo Jin said, "She’s been in my life for so long. During the filming of 'It’s Okay, That’s Love,' I had a serious traffic accident where I broke my arms and legs. My friend rushed to help me and stayed by my side every day. I couldn’t even wash my hair or change clothes because my arm was in a cast, but she helped me with everything. When I think back, I’m so thankful for how much she endured with me."
Gong Hyo Jin also revealed, "We’re like sisters—our birthdays are just two days apart. Since we’re the same height, she even stepped in as my body double during the drama. For a scene where Jo In Sung had to carry me, she took my place because my injuries made it impossible for me to film."
The incident Gong Hyo Jin referred to happened in 2014 when she was traveling back to Seoul after filming the SBS drama 'It’s Okay, That’s Love.' She was involved in a three-car collision on the highway, which resulted in significant injuries and required her to rely on her friend’s unwavering support during her recovery.
