On November 7, members of EXID attended the wedding of an official from their former agency, Banana Culture Entertainment, where they performed a congratulatory song. Among them was Hani.
During the wedding, Hani was captured shedding tears while singing the celebratory song. The song performed was EXID's hit track "Up & Down," and Hani was seen becoming emotional as she sang.
After news broke of Hani's tearful moment, some speculated that it might be linked to the postponed wedding with her partner, Yang Jae Woong.
Until recently, Hani had been seen in good spirits. Last month, she announced her participation in the 'BIG GROUND FEST 2024' held in Indonesia. In a video message, she cheerfully greeted fans, saying, "Hello, LEGGO (EXID's fandom) in Indonesia. This is EXID's Hani. We're working hard to prepare, so please look forward to it."
However, Hani's wedding with Yang Jae Woong has been postponed. Back in May, a controversy arose after a 30-year-old woman, identified as 'A,' passed away 17 days after being admitted to Yang Jae Woong’s hospital in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, due to paralytic ileus (intestinal obstruction).
'A' had been hospitalized at the facility for treatment related to an addiction to diet pills containing narcotic substances. While hospitalized, she complained of abdominal pain. Still, it was later revealed that the nurse assistant and a caregiver administered sedatives and restrained her to a bed instead of providing proper treatment. Tragically, she died as a result.
Regarding the incident, Yang Jae Woong stated, "The entire medical staff and I are deeply devastated by this incident, and we extend our sincere apologies to the bereaved family, who must be in unimaginable grief after losing their loved one."
Following the incident, Yang Jae Woong appeared as a witness at a National Assembly audit, which further fueled controversy. Consequently, Hani postponed the wedding they had initially planned for September.
