In a new "epikase" video titled 'WE FOUND THE BEST KPOP IDOL PHOTOCARD EVER. PERIOD' uploaded on Epik High's official YouTube channel, Tablo sat down with Mithra Jin and DJ Tukutz to review and rate idol photo cards.
In the episode, they examined a set of "SAT Lucky Charm Photocards" featuring male idols who had attended prestigious universities.
Inspired by the concept, Tablo proposed a playful yet clever idea for his photocard. He suggested creating a photocard that featured a copy of his Stanford University diploma, offering a humorous take on the trend. Tablo quipped, "I'm not this good-looking, so I wouldn't make it like that. I'd put my diploma... They wanted certification so bad, so I would make my diploma into a photocard."
Tablo added, "Put a QR code on the back, and if you scan the QR code, the MBC Special documentary will play right on your phone. That's good. How about that?" On Online communities, this made fans remember the previous controversy he was embroiled in regarding his college diploma.
Back in 2010, Tablo was embroiled in allegations that he had lied about graduating from Stanford University. Tablo publicly stated that he graduated from Stanford with a Bachelor's degree in English Literature and a Master's degree in Creative Writing in just 3.5 years. However, around 2010, an infamous online community named “TaJinYo” (타진요: 타블로에게 진실을 요구합니다, which means “We Demand the Truth from Tablo”) emerged, accusing him of faking his academic credentials.
MBC later aired a documentary, covering Tablo's efforts to clear his name and the psychological impact it had on him.
