Entrepreneur and North Korean defector Lee Soon Sil has revealed her fear of electrotherapy, a form of physiotherapy with electrical stimulation.

As a recurring guest on the variety show ‘Boss in the Mirror’, Lee Soon Sil is seen visiting a hospital for treatment after a traffic accident in August, this year. As the doctor prescribes electrotherapy, she refuses in fear, recounting the torture she suffered when she was caught back to North Korea after attempting to defect to South Korea. 

She detailed that she was stripped naked, hit with sickles, and endured electric-shock torture, resulting in her trauma with the aforementioned electrotherapy, eliciting shock and sympathy from the other cast members.

After multiple failed attempts to defect from North Korea, Lee Soon Sil had finally successfully established herself in South Korea in 2007, and is currently running a food business involving North Korean cuisine.
