Baby V.O.X made headlines when they reunited for a performance at the ‘2024 KBS Global Festival’, the first in fourteen years. Apart for the excitement for the nostalgic girl group’s performance, the public was also curious about the discord and bullying rumors revolving around the group and singer-turned-actress Yoon Eun Hye. The members dispelled resurfaced allegations with group photos, gladdening their fans.
In an interview, member Kan Mi Youn elaborated on the longstanding rumors, saying that they have clarified their misunderstandings. She premises with the fact that there was no discord between the members, but rumors of discord and ostracization became attached to their names. She tears up, regretting that the matter never got properly addressed.
She mentions that as Yoon Eun Hye is the youngest, she always spoke formally to the other members, and that might have contributed to the impression that the group is strict and not friendly with each other.
Yoon Eun Hye then began taking on acting roles with much success, becoming really busy on top of group activities. The other members initially only intended to promote the group as five, but later decided that it would be fun to keep doing music, and had periods when there promoted as three members and four members respectively.
Another incident that sparked the discord rumors was when Yoon Eun Hye was not present at member Shim Eun Jin’s wedding. Kan Mi Youn explains that as Yoon Eun Hye was abroad for other work, she was unable to attend the wedding. This ‘Global Festival’ occasion led to the five members spending much time together, and in the process also clearing up misunderstandings they had.
Finally, Kan Mi Youn teases that the public might see more of Baby V.O.X in the future as they all are in favor of potential concerts and events, stating that they have been receiving offers, but nothing has been set in stone yet.
