Actress Hwang Jung Eum, who went through a public divorce, made a thought-provoking statement about marriage, saying, "You should make sure to write a contract (prenup) when getting married."
On December 17, episode 8 of the SBS Plus and E-Channel variety show 'Because I'm Single' featured MC Hwang Jung Eum and the other hosts observing the daily lives of the show's cast members.
In one segment, cast member Oh Jung Yeon was seen getting her New Year’s fortune read. When the fortune teller predicted that she would have "a romantic connection with a man," Hwang Jung Eum jokingly commented, "It looks like you have good 'document luck.'"
She went on to explain, "Having 'document luck' could refer to contracts related to real estate, for example. But since marriage is also a type of contract, it could be related to that too." Hwang then added with a playful tone, "That's why you should definitely write a contract when you get married."
Hwang Jung Eum married a businessman and former professional golfer in 2016, but the couple announced their divorce in February of this year. Following the divorce, Hwang briefly confirmed a relationship with basketball player Kim Jong Kyu, but the two parted ways after just two weeks.
