NewJeans members leave messages for fans as they announce departure from ADOR and HYBE.
On November 29th KST, NewJeans members shared heartfelt messages with fans on their community platform, Phoning, following their announcement to terminate their exclusive contract with ADOR and HYBE.
Minji wrote, “Bunnies (official fandom name), you worked hard today. This is just the beginning for us. Even if we can’t meet on Phoning anymore, don’t worry—we’ll find a way to come back soon.”
Hyein said, “Starting tomorrow, we might not be able to come to Phoning. Please don’t worry—we’ll find a way to communicate. Let’s continue overcoming tough times together, Bunnies.”
Hanni added, “We’ve done everything we could. Think of this as a short break. When we return, we’ll surprise you all again.”
Danielle and Haerin also expressed their gratitude and love for fans, saying, “Bunnies, thank you and we love you,” and “We’re truly grateful,” respectively.
This follows NewJeans’ press conference on November 28th in Gangnam, Seoul, where they announced that their exclusive contract with ADOR would be terminated as of midnight on November 29th.
NewJeans explained, “Terminating the contract means the exclusive agreement is no longer valid, so there’s nothing hindering our activities. Since we can continue our activities steadily, we don’t think there’s a need to file an injunction or pursue legal action.”
They also stated, “We have not violated the contract and have always done our best in our activities. We see no reason to pay any penalties. This situation arose because ADOR and HYBE violated the contract, and they should be held accountable.”
In response, ADOR rebutted, “ADOR has not violated the contract. Simply claiming that trust has been broken does not constitute valid grounds for termination. The exclusive contract remains valid.”
