G-Dragon denies running the viral sub-account ‘8lo8lo8lowme’.
G-Dragon appeared on MBC FM4U’s 'Kim Eana’s Starry Night' on November 18th KST, engaging in a candid conversation with DJ Kim Eana.
During the broadcast, G-Dragon addressed the viral Instagram sub-account known for sharing casual snapshots of his daily life. He clarified, “I’m trying to track this person down too. First off, it’s not me. I don’t know who they are, but they seem to communicate with me in some way.”
When DJ Kim Eana commented, “They take photos from a very close distance,” G-Dragon replied, “I can’t pinpoint who it is. It seems to be different people at different times. I also check the photos when they’re posted.”
He added, “I call this person ‘Romy.’ When I message them saying, ‘Who are you?’ they read the message but don’t reply. It’s a mystery.”
The Instagram sub-account in question, named ‘팔로팔로미’ (8lo8lo8lowme), gained traction after G-Dragon popularized the phrase a decade ago in an LG Uplus ad campaign. At the time, LG Uplus used the phrase “팔로팔로미” (follow-follow-me) in its marketing for the launch of its broadband LTE-A service, with G-Dragon as the campaign’s face. The account now boasts over 540,000 followers and exclusively follows G-Dragon.
