Following their album design plagiarism controversy which arose earlier this month, Wake One Entertainment's rookie girl group izna is now facing similar accusations of "copying" another K-Pop idol group, aespa.
Earlier this month, Wake One Entertainment changed the cover design of izna's 1st mini album 'N/a' after K-netizens accused the design of plagiarizing NewJeans. This time, netizens noticed that previews for izna's official merchandise, to be sold at the girl group's first pop-up store event at Lotte World Tower Mall soon, may have literally "copied" aespa.
According to netizens, the photocard previews shown in izna's merchandise list were in fact, previews of aespa members Karina and Giselle from their "Better Things" photocard series.
Many commented,
"Wait, but they literally copied and pasted Karina and Giselle into those previews lol."
"Is this a part of their 'noise marketing' strategy too?"
"Apparently they quite literally want to BE aespa."
"So if I go to izna's pop-up store I can buy Karina photocards?"
"Can this company please do some real work kekekekekke."
"They want to be the next aespa, but in reality they're the new ILLIT kekekeke."
"Looks like they learned a lot from ILLIT and BeLift Lab."
"izna? What's that? I'll pass."
"If they're doing this on purpose for 'viral marketing'... what a bunch of brainless fools."
"I'm seriously starting to think that it's on purpose to attract all the buzz around NewJeans and aespa."
"This is just embarrassing."
