Dex collaborated with 2AM’s Seulong on a self-composed track.
Broadcaster Dex (real name Kim Jin Young) has collaborated with 2AM’s Seulong to create a self-composed song. On November 18th KST, Dex uploaded a video to his personal channel showcasing the process of releasing his track.
In the video, Dex visited a recording studio in Sangam-dong, Seoul, to record his self-composed song “To You, I Am.” He explained, “This is just a song I made while caught up in late-night emotions, humming melodies into a recorder. It’s purely a gift for my fans.” Producer Lim Seul Ong, upon reviewing the lyrics, commented, “The lyrics are really unique. Some parts are impressively well-detailed, while other parts are a bit hard to understand.”
During the recording session, Lim Seul Ong showed a serious side as he directed Dex. Before leaving the studio, Lim humorously remarked, “Now that you’re a composer, you’ll start earning royalties,” to which Dex replied, “I think I’ll make about 3,000 KRW (2.15 USD) a month,” drawing laughter.
After completing the recording, a producer who stepped in for Lim praised Dex, saying, “You’ve completely turned into Paul Kim. You’ve evolved from a goat to Paul Kim.” Dex, maintaining his playful tone, responded, “It’s an upgrade.”
Dex concluded by sharing his excitement: “I think my fans will really like this. Please listen to it a lot when it’s released. It’s a meaningful song you can share with someone on special occasions.”
The video drew comments such as, “This song feels so soothing and heartwarming,” “If he’s good at singing too, that’s almost unfair,” “Thanks to Seul Ong’s direction, it’s even better,” and “I’ll listen to this on repeat once it’s out.”
Dex’s self-composed track “To You, I Am” will be released on all major music platforms on November 22nd.
