The travel variety show 'Seipja (Tenant): Those Who Check Into Guesthouses Everywhere' (hereafter 'Seipja'), produced by OOTB, kicked off its much-anticipated second season in Yeosu with TWICE's Jihyo.
Planned and produced by the multiplatform content company OOTB, 'Seipja' is a travel variety show that explores guesthouses across the country, which are places where feelings of unfamiliarity and excitement coexist in a romantic setting.
In the show, Jihyo serves as the main host, visiting various guesthouses not only in Korea but around the world while interacting with unique travelers. The show has gained significant popularity among the MZ generation.
In season 1, Jihyo introduced various guesthouses in both domestic and international locations, such as Jeju, Busan, Sokcho, and even Fukui, Japan—a city with a population of zero Koreans.
Jihyo, returning for season 2 of 'Seipja,' expressed her dedication as the solo MC, saying, "I plan to include even more travel information about the regions where the guesthouses are located based on subscribers’ reactions." In the first episode, Jihyo visited Yeosu, Jeollanam-do, for the first time in her life.
Upon arrival, she humorously received a crash course in the Jeolla dialect from a taxi driver and formed an instant bond with a guesthouse owner, also born in 1997, providing a warm and friendly vibe.
The guesthouse for this episode was filled with "MZ energy," just like its young owner. Particularly at a party held for visitors, the atmosphere resembled a dating show, with Jihyo and the guests enjoying themselves. The guesthouse staff hosted interesting discussions about dating, a popular topic for many attendees.
One of the conversation topics, "Which is worse: ghosting vs. rebound breakups?" sparked a heated debate, with Jihyo advocating for the "rebound breakup" side, leading to an unintentional but lively discussion as the "ghosting" supporters presented their counterarguments.
Additionally, Jihyo heard about a restaurant from the manhwa 'Sikgaek' that served a boat-trip gizzard shad shabu-shabu, and she spontaneously gathered a group to head to the restaurant.
After showcasing her "mukbang" prowess, Jihyo impulsively joined a fishing tour, continuing her energetic "no plan" travel style. Jihyo shared, "I never thought I’d end up fishing in Yeosu," showing her high spirits amid the unpredictable trip flow. She then proposed a fishing contest, declaring, "Our goal today is to catch a red sea bream!"
'Seipja' featuring TWICE’s Jihyo will continue to air biweekly on Tuesdays at 6 PM.
