SM Entertainment’s first virtual artist, nævis, made headlines as she graced the opening ceremony of Seoul Design 2024 as the event’s ambassador.
On October 17 KST, nævis attended the opening ceremony held at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul, where she performed and engaged in conversation with Seoul Mayor Oh Se Hoon. Her presence captivated the audience, successfully kicking off the event.
During the ceremony, nævis expressed her excitement, stating, “I am honored to be the ambassador for Seoul Design. It is a joy to be here alongside the mayor. As this year’s theme is ‘Imagine Tomorrow,’ I hope my presence will inspire many to imagine a future full of possibilities.”
When Mayor Oh asked about her vision of tomorrow, nævis responded, “I don’t see today and tomorrow as separate. Just as AI has revolutionized our daily lives, opening new worlds, I believe that virtual artists like myself will become more common in the future, and the global influence of K-pop will continue to grow.”
Highlighting her versatility as a flexible character, nævis demonstrated her ability to seamlessly adapt across different platforms using cutting-edge technology. She then performed her debut single “Done,” enchanting the audience with her mysterious and captivating performance.
Having officially debuted with the release of her single “Done” on September 10 KST, nævis is expanding her presence beyond music into webtoons, games, merchandise, and brand collaborations, all driven by AI voice technology and generative AI content.
