Shin Minah gave a closing interview for the tvN and TVING drama 'No Gain No Love' at a café in Gangnam, Seoul, where she mentioned the reactions of those around her regarding the show.
'No Gain No Love' is a romantic drama about Son Haeyoung (played by Shin Minah), a woman who gets married because she doesn't want to lose, and Kim Jiuk (played by Kim Youngdae), a man who becomes her husband because he doesn't want to cause any harm. Shin Minah played the role of Son Haeyoung, a character who, despite her strong desire to avoid any losses, is endlessly warm toward the people she cares about, earning her widespread love from viewers.
Shin Minah, who has been in a public relationship with fellow actor Kim Woobin for nine years, displayed her enduring affection for him. Shin Minah, who portrayed Son Haeyoung as not just a calculative person driven by self-interest but as someone who, deep down, is warm-hearted and considerate, created a well-rounded character. Her solid acting skills gained viewers' empathy throughout the show.
Shin Minah confessed that her peers loved her character, Son Haeyoung, right from the beginning of the show, especially enjoying the comedic aspects. She said, "They loved the comic elements in the early episodes, and I was able to enjoy the final episode with that energy. My family loved it too, and I received a lot of messages from friends saying the drama was hilarious."
Since 2015, Shin Minah has been in a public relationship with fellow actor Kim Woobin. Recently, in an interview related to the Netflix series 'The War Counselor', Kim Woobin mentioned, "I don’t feel burdened by fans' support for our public relationship. On the contrary, I’m very thankful. Shin Minah is such a wonderful person that I’ve received a lot of positive influence from her."
When asked if Kim Woobin had given her any feedback on the drama, Shin Minah responded, "He’s been watching it and enjoying it," before adding, "We always support each other when we’re working on projects." She smiled quietly as she said this.
'No Gain No Love' uses the concept of a "fake marriage" between Son Haeyoung and Kim Jiuk. While the characters in the show start with a fake marriage that turns into genuine love, the reality of relationships and marriage is more complex than just discussing gains and losses. When asked about the idea of "loss" in relationships, Shin Minah shared, "The drama uses the word 'loss,' but it doesn’t carry a negative connotation. In relationships, it’s more about understanding rather than loss."
She continued, "I think Haeyoung also experienced growth through this process. Didn’t she come to understand and love her mother by the final episode? I believe if there’s a lot of understanding in a relationship, it’s not really a loss."
