On October 2 KST, BTOB member and solo artist Lee Changsub held a comeback showcase commemorating the release of his 1st full album, '1991'.
On this day, Lee Changsub recalled the struggles he endured while preparing for his solo comeback. "Earlier this year, I had to halt activities temporarily because of an illness in my throat. Fortunately, through consistent voice therapy, I was able to recover and completed this album," the idol revealed.
Previously, Lee Changsub lost his voice for several months after a cyst was discovered in his throat. The singer reflected, "I experienced true despair and depression during that time. When a person sets out to achieve something they were not able to do before, it motivates them to fulfill a goal. But when something that was working fine stops working, the process of gaining it back again was difficult. Even though I saw improvements, I couldn't deal with the fact that I couldn't use my voice the way I used to."
He continued, "I told people for the first time that I felt depressed. I was under so much stress. It got me thinking that I was at fault, for leading an unhealthy lifestyle. So I quit alcohol. I realized that I was not caring for myself professionally, and so I realigned my priorities."
Meanwhile, Lee Changsub released his 1st full solo album '1991' on October 2 at 6 PM KST, featuring the double title tracks "33" and "Old Town".
