Korean netizens are revisiting Han So Hee's interview about filming a love scene with actor Ahn Bo Hyun in the Netflix drama 'My Name' following the revelation that she is one year older than her profile age.
The actress has been accused of lying on several occasions in her career, such as when she claimed she could not go to an art school in France because she didn't have enough savings.
With her real birth age being discussed, Korean netizens revisited a past interview when Han So Hee claimed she was unaware of the love making scene with Ahn Bo Hyun until after the filming began.
During a 2022 interview with TenAsia, the actress shared, "I found out there was a bed scene in the middle of filming. At first, I wondered whether it would be okay. I wondered whether it would be something that got in the way of my character Ji Woo's goal of revenge. I understood the scene as the only moment that Ji Woo felt human and felt like a human. Rather than love or affection, I think it was the moment that she became more human, and a moment that made her feel like she wants to live like a human being."
Referring to this interview, one netizen shared the effect Han So Hee had on the drama. The netizen explained, "Despite the fact that it was revealed (Han So Hee) lied, it's absurd that the director is still getting all the hate." The netizen explained that the hate comments were directed not only at the director but also at his wife, who is also an actress.
They further explained that Han So Hee's claim that she was unaware of the love scene before filming was false and revealed, "The agency explained, 'During the pre-production stage, the possibility of a bed scene had already been discussed, and the final decision on the scene was made during filming after much thought and discussion.' They added, 'We believe that Han So Hee's statement in the interview, 'I learned about it during filming,' may have led to some misunderstandings depending on how it was interpreted,' admitting to the mistake."
This netizen further criticized, "This interview caused the director to take all the heat while the agency clarification was released. For two whole weeks, the director faced intense criticism, and numerous articles criticizing him were published." They added, "It's been three years but people are still criticizing the director" pointing out that Han So Hee's lie at the time caused harm to the director of 'My Name.'
Other Korean netizens also joined the online community and also expressed their suspicion of Han So Hee being a habitual liar. They commented:
"I began to become skeptical of anything Han So Hee says after this love scene incident. And there was that Art school in France claim that was false."
"It seems like she lies every time she opens her mouth."
"I feel she's the type that needs to lie to get attention."
"Why is she like that? Does she find joy in making other people suffer?"
"She lied she was born in 1994 lol."
"Seems like pathological lying..."
"There should be things she can lie about but this lie caused so much harm to the director..."
"Tsk tsk."
"I didn't know her agency clarified and admitted she knew. I thought the director was just trash until now."
"I think a lot of people don't know her agency clarified about this."
"Wow, she's such a liar."
"This is the first time I have heard about this. I'm so shocked. Can't believe she did that to the director."
"There are so many negative things surfacing about Han So Hee these days."
"She's so untrustworthy."
