BTS member J-Hope brought excitement to the baseball stadium on October 23rd as he took to the mound to throw the ceremonial first pitch at the second game of the 2024 KBO League Korean Series between the KIA Tigers and Samsung Lions, held at Gwangju KIA Champions Field. This marks his first public appearance since his military discharge.
As a proud native of Gwangju, J-Hope has often expressed his affection for his hometown and the KIA Tigers, the local team. Upon arriving in a KIA vehicle, J-Hope, though slightly nervous, confidently stepped onto the mound to deliver a memorable pitch. He particularly drew attention by wearing a purple glove with 'J-HOPE' embroidered on it, showcasing his unique style.
After completing the pitch, J-Hope showed his gratitude to cheering fans by waving, taking off his cap, and flashing a playful 'V' sign.
J-Hope, who enlisted in April of last year, served as an instructor at the 36th Infantry Division in Wonju, Gangwon Province. He was officially discharged from military service on October 17th.
