INFINITE's Jang Dong Woo recently revealed that he had fallen victim to a multimillion-KRW fraud.
In the teaser for MBC Every1’s show 'I’m All Grown Up, But Not Leaving,' which was revealed on October 8, Jang Dong Woo shared his story as the newest “kangaroo” (a term for adults who still live with their parents).
During the teaser, Dong Woo introduced himself, saying, “I’m a 33-year-old kangaroo, and my monthly living expenses are around 1.8 million KRW (~1,330 USD).”
In the trailer for the upcoming episode, Dong Woo shows his affection for his mother when she mentions feeling indigestion, and Dong Woo massages her hand. Despite his "voluntary kangaroo" lifestyle, his mother jokingly told him to "get it together," while helping him stretch, bringing laughter to viewers.
The real surprise came during a meal when his mother remarked, “You’re very frugal with small things, so how did you end up getting scammed out of millions (KRW)?” This comment shocked viewers.
Jang Dong Woo then revealed the reason he still lives with his parents: he had been the victim of multiple scams. “I lost nearly 700 million KRW (~520,000 USD),” he confessed, explaining that over the course of his career since debut, he had been defrauded several times.
Despite this, Jang Dong Woo, who remains popular globally as INFINITE's main rapper and dancer, will be showing a different side of himself on the show. Viewers can expect to see his pure and slightly clumsy personality, offering a refreshing contrast to his glamorous idol image.
