BIGBANG’s G-Dragon to contribute to BABYMONSTER’s comeback.
On October 8th KST, a video titled ‘BABYMONSTER | YG ANNOUNCEMENT (1st FULL ALBUM Rollout)’ was uploaded to YG’s official YouTube channel.
YG’s executive producer Yang Hyun Suk stated, “I would like to share the tracklist and overall promotional plan for BABYMONSTER’s long-promised first full album,” and revealed that the album will be released on November 1st at 1 PM. He added, “We will be releasing two tracks each week in advance, but only up to the first verse.” He noted that this is a “first-time promotion” approach.
BABYMONSTER’s first full album will be titled ‘DRIP,’ the same as the title track. Yang described the title track, saying, “‘DRIP’ is the most energetic and danceable song BABYMONSTER has released so far.” He further explained, “Songs like ‘BATTER UP’ and ‘SHEESH’ are not necessarily hip-hop tracks meant for dancing. Some songs naturally make you want to move, and ‘DRIP’ has a rhythm that will make anyone, regardless of age, want to dance.”
Yang then made a surprising revelation: “An unexpected person participated in composing ‘DRIP.’ Among the overseas topliners and YG producers involved, that person is G-Dragon.” He continued, “We’ve achieved a very satisfying result. You can look forward to it.”
G-Dragon recently attended the reunion concert celebrating the 15th anniversary of 2NE1, where he took commemorative photos with YG artists. G-Dragon is also set to make his solo comeback later this month, marking his first in seven years.
BABYMONSTER previously appeared as guests at 2NE1’s concert.
