Former I.O.I member Lim Nayoung is making a bold transformation as an actress with her role in the upcoming horror film '4 Minutes 44 Seconds.'
The film is set to be released in theaters on November 1st, and the recently unveiled poster and trailer have sparked growing curiosity about the project. As part of an omnibus format, Lim stars in 'Episode 06: Share House' where she plays the role of an idol named Kim Sunyoung, venturing into the horror genre for the first time.
'4 Minutes 44 Seconds' is a suspenseful snack horror movie centered around the mysterious disappearances of residents and visitors at Bukchon Apartments, occurring every day at 4:44 PM. In the 'Share House' episode, Lim portrays an idol living in a dormitory, who encounters a disturbing roommate and faces an unknown terror. Her portrayal of Sunyoung in this eerie setting promises to captivate audiences with a sense of dread and tension.
Lim Nayoung first gained recognition in 2016 through Mnet’s survival show 'Produce 101,' where she debuted as the leader of the project girl group I.O.I. The group topped various music charts and quickly became a sensation. After I.O.I’s disbandment in 2017, Lim debuted again as a member of Pristin under Pledis Entertainment, further showcasing her talents.
Following Pristin’s disbandment in 2019, Lim Nayoung left Pledis and transitioned into acting under Mask Studio. Since then, she has appeared in a variety of dramas and entertainment programs, steadily building her reputation as an actress.
In '4 Minutes 44 Seconds,' Lim will display a more mature side of herself, tackling complex emotions in a genre she has never explored before. Fans are eager to see the new appeal she brings to this horror project. Her performance is highly anticipated, as she ventures into uncharted territory with this role.
The film marks the directorial debut of Park Jong Gyun, who previously worked as an assistant director on 'Heungbu: The Revolutionist.' The cast also includes notable stars such as Lovelyz's Yoo Jiae, SHINee's Onew (Lee Jinki), Ottogi chairman's daughter Ham Yeonji, INFINITE's Lee Sungyeol, GFRIEND's Sowon, and Lee Soo Min.
