Former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin will appear in a Youtube Live today.
On October 29th KST, Min is set to participate in a live broadcast on music critic Kim Young Dae’s YouTube channel. Kim Young Dae announced on his social media, “There will be the first live broadcast of ‘Kim Young Dae’s School of Music’ tonight at 9 p.m. The second guest for the D-talks interview segment will be producer Min Hee Jin.”
Since her first public appearance at an urgent press conference in April, Min has continued to draw attention at subsequent public appearances, raising direct criticisms about systemic issues in K-pop and voicing concerns about HYBE’s practices.
While Min’s three-year term as a board director at ADOR was renewed during an extraordinary shareholders’ meeting on the 17th, she is actively pushing for reinstatement as CEO. Her remarks on the broadcast regarding this issue are highly anticipated. Currently, Min has filed an injunction claiming that her removal from the CEO position was unlawful, asserting that she should be reappointed. NewJeans has publicly supported her through their own live broadcasts, and member Hanni even testified at a national audit hearing about internal harassment within HYBE.
During the national audit on the 24th by the Culture, Sports, and Tourism Committee, HYBE’s “Weekly Music Industry Report” was revealed, containing disparaging remarks about idols’ appearances. Many are watching to see how Min responds to these revelations.
HYBE has issued a statement on the matter, clarifying, “This report was compiled to provide industry trend information for internal reference by a small group of people, by collecting responses from communities and social media exactly as they appeared, and it does not reflect HYBE’s official stance.”
