Fans and netizens are concerned for the future of NewJeans following the members' latest live stream and updates on ADOR and the appointment of a new CEO.
The concern has grown to new heights as the members took matters into their own hands to hold an unannounced live stream on a newly opened YouTube channel. During the live stream, NewJeans expressed their frustration regarding the current situation and urged HYBE to decide by September 25 to return management to Min Hee Jin.
Now, Korean netizens are gathered in a popular online community to express their growing concern for the group's future as many are worried that NewJeans would be neglected by the agency.
One netizen explained, "The atmosphere of the company is a complete mess, to the point where people are openly telling others to exclude NewJeans. Now that even NewJeans themselves are stepping up and doing a live broadcast, it feels like the company won't just stay quiet. What's going to really happen? I wanted to see NewJeans release a full album, damn it. Seriously, these old geezers..."
Other netizens commented:
"They’re openly going against the company, so objectively, it looks like their downfall is inevitable. And as a result, LE SSERAFIM will go down with them. It seems like their fans have decided to go down together in a kamikaze-style move. The more NewJeans are hurt, where do you think the fallout will spread to? Seems like they’re not thinking about that."
"They're going to be shelved in storage. If their contracts are canceled now, they could somehow make a comeback, but Bang Si Hyuk at HYBE would never let that happen. He would just keep them stored away, without violating the contract, and continue to make things difficult for them on a personal level, all the while trying to devalue the NewJeans brand."
"I really don't know why they are going this far. I'm really curious... Is it because they are doing well? I mean, isn't it a good thing when an artist from your own label is really successful? I honestly don't get why they're acting like this. It's so confusing."
"I'm getting tired of this."
"This would become FIFTY FIFTY incident #2. But then HYBE won't ever let them go."
"The only way to get back at Bang Si Hyuk is not to stan ILLIT and not buy ILLIT's merch."
"Are they going to disband? Is there a possibility of that?"
"They're definitely going to be put in storage... Honestly, whatever they do, the girls are going to be put in storage. That's why the members decided to go head-on. To be blunt, timing and age are crucial for idols, and right now, their prime is about to be wasted. If I were in their position, I would have fought back too. When the whole company is openly excluding and ostracizing you, would staying quiet really change anything?"
"It's either they get stored away without saying anything versus getting stored away after getting a say and revealing their perspective. If that's the case, the latter choice is better. I think the girls knew what was going to happen but decided to go head-on before getting stored away."
"Honestly, after six months of a messy fight, how could they bring Min Hee Jin back to ADOR? Even if a miracle happened and she was reinstated with all the management, production, and staff returning to the way things were before, ADOR already has a bad reputation within HYBE. How could anyone work in that environment? For meetings or approvals, Min Hee Jin would have to keep meeting with HYBE executives, but how would that even be possible? Plus, there's already a new CEO at ADOR, and there's no reason to remove that person. In reality, Min Hee Jin's return seems impossible, and NewJeans being contained seems inevitable... sigh."
"NewJeans deserve better."
