As of September 29, the ‘Love in the Big City’ movie, an adaptation of the eponymous Korean queer novel by Park Sang Young, is leading the local box office booking rate, overtaking the popular ‘Veteran’ sequel ‘I, The Executioner’.

While the movie will start screening in Korea from October 1, the novel’s drama adaptation will also be released on ‘TVING’ in the same month, on October 21. Unlike the movie, the drama’s screenplay is written by the novel’s author himself.

Based on the synopses and vastly different trailers, it seems that the movie’s focus on friendship, while the drama is focused on the queer protagonist’s coming-of-age journey.
