Shin Woo-seok, the head of production company Dolphin Kidnapping, who directed the music videos for NewJeans' tracks "Ditto" and "ETA," has revealed that ADOR, the group's agency, has requested the deletion of all related work.
On September 2nd, Shin took to his social media to announce, “It seems there has been a policy change at ADOR following a shift in management. Due to ADOR’s request, all NewJeans music videos and related content that Dolphin Kidnapping had worked on and uploaded, as well as any future planned uploads, can no longer be made public.”
Shin explained that the Dolphin Kidnapping and Ban Hee-su YouTube channels were primarily for archiving their portfolio and did not generate any revenue. He emphasized that the videos were created out of a genuine desire to produce quality content for fans, with no financial gain for the production company.
However, due to ADOR’s new stance, Shin stated, “All videos will be deleted and cannot be made public. It seems that any further collaboration between Dolphin Kidnapping and ADOR is now impossible.”
Shin expressed his regret, noting, “We had promised future projects with the NewJeans members, which we can no longer fulfill. I’m deeply sorry to the team who worked tirelessly for months and, above all, to the fans who were eagerly waiting.”
Full Statement from Director Shin Woo-seok:
It seems that there has been a change in ADOR's policies following the management shift. Due to ADOR's request for deletion, all NewJeans music videos and related content that Dolphin Kidnapping has worked on and uploaded, as well as any content that was planned for future uploads, can no longer be made public.
The Dolphin Kidnapping and Ban Hee-su YouTube channels are operated primarily for archiving our portfolio, and they do not generate any revenue. These videos and channels were created with the voluntary intent to produce good works for the fans, with no financial gain for Dolphin Kidnapping. However, due to the changed stance of ADOR, all videos will be deleted and cannot be made public.
As of today, it seems that any further collaboration between Dolphin Kidnapping and ADOR is no longer possible. There were projects we had promised to work on with the NewJeans members in the future, but unfortunately, we can no longer fulfill those promises. I feel sorry for the staff who spent countless nights working on these projects and, most importantly, to the fans who were eagerly waiting.
Thank you.
This news follows the recent management changes at ADOR, where former CEO Min Hee-jin was replaced by Kim Joo-young on August 27th. Although ADOR initially stated that Min would continue to oversee NewJeans' production and remain as an internal director, Min’s camp has since claimed that she was unilaterally dismissed and that the proposed terms for her continued involvement in production were unreasonable.
