Interpreter and TV personality Lee Yoon Jin, currently in divorce mediation with actor Lee Bum Soo, recently gave fans a glimpse into her life via social media.
On September 29, Lee Yoon Jin posted several videos and photos on her personal social media account without any specific captions. The images show her attending designer Kim Hae Kim's fashion show in Paris with her daughter. Lee Yoon Jin stood out with her bold outfit, complete with a daring ensemble and a pink wig, while her daughter’s noticeable growth also drew attention.
Lee Yoon Jin married Lee Beom Soo in 2010, but it was revealed in March of this year that the couple is going through divorce proceedings. They share two children, a daughter and a son. Lee Yoon Jin is currently living in Bali with their daughter, while Lee Beom Soo is in Korea raising their son.
In a July appearance on TV Chosun’s 'Now Alone,' Lee Yoon Jin opened up about her struggles, especially missing her son. "It would be a lie to say I don’t miss him. I miss him constantly," she shared. "When the time comes for me to see him again, I want him to see a strong, healthy mother, not someone sad or depressed. That’s why I’m trying to stay positive and take care of myself."
Host Park Mi Sun asked, "Why can’t you see your son if you have visitation rights?" Lee Yoon Jin responded, "The decision hasn’t been finalized yet." Guest Choi Dong Seok added, "In divorce cases in Korea, the initial custody usually goes to the parent who has been caring for the child first. This is called a temporary custodian. Once the court assigns a temporary custodian, that person often becomes the permanent custodian."
Lee Yoon Jin expressed her frustration, saying, "If communication with the temporary custodian was possible, things would be easier. But in our case, since we can’t reach each other, I just haven’t been able to see him." Park Mi Sun then asked, "Once visitation rights are finalized, wouldn’t you legally be able to see him even without direct contact?" Choi replied, "It should be decided quickly, but the court seems to be handling a lot of cases."
Tearfully, Lee Yoon concluded, "Some people ask why I don’t just visit him at school, but that would cause a scene. It would confuse my child, and there are always eyes on us. I don’t want to create unnecessary drama, so I’ve only been able to watch him from afar. At first, it felt like my heart was being torn apart," she said, breaking down in tears.
