Lee Se Young and Sakaguchi Kentaro open up about working together on the set of 'What Comes After Love'

South Korean actress Lee Se Young and Japanese actor Sakaguchi Kentaro opened up to 'Vogue Korea' about working together on the filming set of the upcoming Coupang Play series, 'What Comes After Love'.

When asked to name Lee Se Young's strengths as an actress, Sakaguchi Kentaro mentioned her bright energy, her honesty, and her voice. He explained, "There was a phone call scene that is very close to a climax in the storyline. The camera was capturing Se Young, and I was on the phone line with her outside the studio. Just by listening to her voice, I could tell clearly what she was feeling. I could just picture her. Admiration toward this actress really bloomed in that moment."

Lee Se Young, who was asked the same thing about her co-star, remarked, "He's childlike in some ways. I personally believe that if you're an actor, no matter how old you are, you need to have some purity in your heart. Like Peter Pan. And Kentaro has that. His eyes are always lively, he's always playful, and he arrives on set with an open mind."

Meanwhile, to prepare for her role opposite Sakaguchi Kentaro, Lee Se Young revealed that she watched his film 'The Last 10 Years'. The actress cutely recalled, "I cried so much. Komatsu Nana was so pretty. After I watched it, I looked up and watched a bunch of Komatsu Nana's films."

Finally, regarding her relationship with Sakaguchi Kentaro, Lee Se Young confessed, "Due to the language barrier, I can't say that we got to know each other deeply. But I still felt close with him at heart. Still, it's true that we barely know anything about each other. I don't even know his blood type." Nevertheless, the actress brought attention to Sakaguchi Kentaro's greatly improved Korean, sharing, "He learned Korean much faster than I learned Japanese. One day, on the set, Kentaro pointed to the frozen Han River and said, 'Make me bingsoo from that ice'. He said it exactly in Korean. He was making a joke, right?"
