According to a Gallup Korea poll, the most-loved girl groups of the 21st century thus far in the minds of South Koreans are Girls' Generation, BLACKPINK, and NewJeans.
The Gallup Korea survey was conducted between August 19~23 with 1,052 participants, ranging between the ages of 19~69. The participants were asked to choose "the most-loved girl group of the 21st century" and were given 20 multiple-choice answers, from which they could choose two responses.
The survey found that Girls' Generation and BLACKPINK tied for the #1 spot, each earning 42% of the votes. Girls' Generation received the highest percentage of votes from participants in their thirties (47%) and sixties (46%), while BLACKPINK received the highest percentage of votes from participants in their forties (47%) and fifties (48%).
Next, NewJeans came in third place by earning 25% of the votes, receiving strong percentages of votes among participants between the ages of 19~59.
4th place went to Wonder Girls (21%), 5th place went to TWICE (13%), 4th place went to 2NE1 (10%), 7th place went to IVE (7%), while 8th place was a tie between aespa, KARA, and Red Velvet (5%). Girl groups Apink, MAMAMOO, and SISTAR also tied in 11th place (4%), followed by T-ara and (G)I-DLE in 14th place (3%), Brown Eyed Girls and 4minute in 16th place (2%), and f(x), miss A, and SECRET tied for 18th place (1%).
