According to an online survey conducted by Star News through Gallup Korea from August 19 to August 23, Zico was ranked as the "Most Loved Rapper of the 21st Century" with 31% of the votes. The survey included 1,052 men and women aged 19 to 69 across South Korea, with a margin of error of ±3.0% at a 95% confidence level.
Zico debuted in 2011 as the leader of the idol group Block B, where he gained popularity by writing, composing, and producing most of the group’s songs. Even after leaving his previous agency in 2018 to go solo, he continued to showcase his talent. That same year, he founded KOZ Entertainment, expanding his career from solo artist to producer. In 2020, KOZ Entertainment was acquired by Big Hit Entertainment (now HYBE), and last May, Zico further broadened his musical spectrum by launching the boy group BOYNEXTDOOR.
In May, Zico won a trophy on SBS’s 'Inkigayo' with his digital single "SPOT!" Remarkably, he achieved this without even appearing on music shows, solidifying his status as a "digital music powerhouse."
Currently, Zico is connecting with viewers every Friday through the KBS 2TV music variety show 'The Seasons.'
Following Zico, Dynamic Duo ranked second with 26% of the votes. Since their debut in 2004, Dynamic Duo has released numerous hit songs such as "Go Back," "Guilty," "Ring My Bell," "BAAAM," and "Attendance Check."
In third place with 22% of the votes was Epik High, followed by Yoon Mi Rae (Tasha) in fourth with 20%, and Drunken Tiger (Tiger JK) in fifth with 15%. Rounding out the top ten were Leessang (11%), Lee Young Ji (9%), Jessi (8%), MC Mong (7%), and BewhY (7%).
