K-pop superstar G-Dragon and music icon Pharrell Williams recently made waves with a special collaboration at a digital auction hosted by JOOPITER, the first platform of its kind established by Pharrell.
The event, titled “NOTHING BUT A ‘G’ THANG: THE ART AND ARCHIVE OF G-DRAGON,” showcased a collection of G-Dragon’s original paintings along with some of his most treasured personal items.
The two music icons were spotted taking photos with each other at the event.
According to ELLE Korea, "On September 2, G-Dragon and Pharrell Williams hosted a collaborative art auction at Paradise City ahead of the opening of the third edition of Frieze Seoul." The magazine explained, "This collaboration was between G-Dragon and JOOPITER, the world’s first digital auction platform founded by Pharrell Williams. The event was also part of the Paradise Art Night, which Paradise City hosts annually to commemorate Frieze Seoul."
JOOPITER is known for its meticulous curation, using various platforms to introduce culturally significant items to a broader audience. The latest auction, titled "Nothing but a 'G' Thang: The Art and Archive of G-Dragon," showcased G-Dragon’s collection, including fashion items, contemporary art, design objects, and memorabilia. For this auction, G-Dragon also customized several art pieces himself.
