The documentary featuring RM (real name Kim Nam-joon), BTS, has been invited to the 29th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), where it will be screened for audiences.

During a press conference held at the Seoul Chamber of Commerce on September 3rd, BIFF programmer Kang So-won discussed the invitation of the documentary film "RM: Right People, Long Places" (directed by Lee Seok-joon). Kang explained, "It was a bit different from the usual Korean documentaries submitted to the 'Wide Angle' section. We believed it would provide a great experience for the audience in the 'Open Cinema' section. This is only the second time a documentary has been screened in the 'Open Cinema' section, and we wanted to showcase a variety of films that could be enjoyed not only by fans but also by the general public."

RM’s documentary was initially expected to be screened in the 'Wide Angle' section, which features short films, documentaries, animations, and experimental films from around the world. However, considering the nature of the film, the festival decided to present it in the 'Open Cinema' section, which screens new works that balance artistic quality and popular appeal, as well as internationally acclaimed films. RM’s documentary will be shown at the Outdoor Theater of the Busan Cinema Center, the largest venue at the festival.

When asked about RM’s attendance at the film festival, it was clarified, "It will be difficult for RM to attend as he is currently serving in the military. However, since the documentary features many artists, it is expected that some of them will be present."

"RM: Right People, Long Places" is a documentary that not only chronicles the production of RM’s solo second album, "Right Place, Wrong Person," released in May this year, but also offers a personal record of the eight months leading up to his military enlistment.

RM enlisted for his mandatory military service on December 11th last year and is currently serving as an active-duty soldier. This documentary is anticipated to be a special gift for fans who miss RM during his military service.

The 29th Busan International Film Festival will kick off on October 2nd and run through October 11th, screening a total of 279 films across 28 screens at seven theaters, including the Busan Cinema Center, CGV Centum City, and Lotte Cinema Centum City.
