BLACKPINK Jennie's label OA Entertainment has issued an official statement of warning against an imposter who claimed to be the artist's dad.
Previously, fans were confused after one media outlet reported that an individual claiming to be Jennie's estranged dad had published a book.
In response, OA Entertainment stated on September 6 KST,
"Hello, this is OA Entertainment.
First, we would like to thank the fans who love and cherish our artist Jennie.
Recently, it has been confirmed that an illegally published work containing lies, written by an imposter who claims to be the artist's father, as well as various news articles on this work are being spread continuously.
We clarify that all of the above are lies, and this published work has no relation to our artist.
Please refrain from purchasing this illegally published work as to avoid incurring any damages.
We have already begun steps to file a criminal lawsuit against the distributor of this work for the spread of false information, defamation of character, and obstruction of business.
Furthermore, we would like to once again note that strong legal measures are being pursued against individuals spreading false information about our artist with intentions including defamation, sexual harassment, and malicious slander.
Such actions are blatant criminal acts, and therefore will continue to be met with legal action upon the gathering of all evidence.
We promise to persist in our efforts to protect the rights of our artist.
Thank you."
