In the world of K-pop and idols, the question of age often comes up as a subject of debate among fans and netizens.
Over the years, the question of what age is considered appropriate for idols to debut, as well as when they should consider stepping away from the spotlight, has sparked much debate.
Recently, the topic of discussion was sparked once again and one netizen shared their perspective by saying, "I think the maximum age (for an idol) should be 40. Seeing someone in their 40s still trying to dance and release albums while acting cool seems a bit much... Once they reach a certain age, I’d prefer they release solo albums or transition into acting or variety shows."
This comment was shared in a popular online community where other Korean netizens and K-pop idol fans shared their thoughts.
They commented:
"34."
"If they have good visuals, up to around 45."
"Appearance management is more important than age, so age doesn't matter."
"Looking at g.o.d (age range from 43 to 55), they seem cool now."
"As long as their looks and charisma don't falter, it's forever."
"35."
"If it's about vocals, age doesn't matter. Idols don't necessarily have to perform dance stages, they can focus more on singing."
"It doesn't matter what age they are."
"My favorite is in their mid-30s and their visuals are insane, so I think they'd still be fine in their mid-40s..."
"40 is a bit much... Up to 35 years old."
"32."
"My primary bias is g.o.d and my secondary bias is also great on stage, so I personally think age doesn't matter as long as they do their job well."
"Early 30s"
"Doesn't matter."
