BTS member Suga is facing significant backlash due to allegations of drunk driving and negligence during his alternative military service. Following complaints requesting an investigation into Suga’s alleged neglect of duty, additional reports have emerged accusing him of lax behavior during his public service.
The allegations regarding Suga’s inadequate public service first surfaced on a public service-related application called 'Gongik Ingan.' A fellow public service worker shared a firsthand account of attending basic training with Suga in November last year. According to the report, despite being appointed as a team leader, Suga did not properly participate in the classes.
The public service worker claimed, "Suga did not attend any classes during the five-day training period. Even the instructor noticed and hinted that his behavior was excessive. Suga would wake up from sleep, nod his head without understanding anything, look at his phone, and then go back to sleep." The worker added that Suga’s group had the lowest participation rate due to his behavior, comparing it to a "school bully who tries to act tough at the beginning of the semester."
The accusations of Suga’s negligence in his duties began circulating beyond the app and spread to online communities, drawing criticism even at that time. Following Suga’s drunk driving incident on a weekday, additional complaints were filed, prompting further investigation into his alleged negligence during public service.
These recent complaints have been assigned to the Seoul Regional Military Manpower Administration, where an investigation is expected to follow. The initial complaint regarding Suga’s negligence has also been assigned to the same department and is currently under investigation.
