A representative of SM Entertainment has stepped up to deny ongoing speculations that former NCT member Taeil's sexual offense case was "covered up" for approximately 2 months.
In response to the Seoul Bangbae Police Station's comment on August 29 KST, stating that a female victim had reported Taeil for a sexual offense in June, SME relayed, "Both SM Entertainment and Taeil were notified of the criminal investigation in mid-August. Taeil was then summoned for questioning on August 28 KST."
Based on the agency's statement, the police received the criminal report in June, but did not notify the suspect of the investigation until August.
