A video posted by a relationship counseling YouTuber, I AM HYEONSEO, is garnering attention on online communities for its involvement of a currently promoting, male K-Pop idol.
In the video, a woman in her early twenties who claimed that she wished to get back together with her K-Pop idol ex-boyfriend sought relationship advice from I AM HYEONSEO.
The woman claimed,
"While dating, we were caught by his company, resulting in our breakup. Because the breakup was not caused by our feelings toward each other changing, we ended up remaining friends. But when he invited me to a show, another member from his group, whom I met for the first time, showed interest in me. Somehow, he found out about it, and so I took it as a chance to express my feelings once again, saying, 'I still have feelings for you. I haven't been able to move on, so I can't think about seeing anyone else right now'. But when he heard that, he said, 'Dating again after getting caught by the company feels too much like a burden, and he doesn't feel like dating anyone right now, so I think it will be difficult for us to go back to the way things were'. But he still wanted to stay friends. What am I to him? Am I just insurance?"

Later on, I AM HYEONSEO confirmed that he had contacted the woman privately to ensure that the story was not fabricated. According to Hyeonseo, the woman was able to provide proof in the form of a photo and a video, which were promptly deleted from KakaoTalk after Hyeonseo confirmed the face of the K-Pop idol.
Additionally, I AM HYEONSEO admitted that the K-Pop idol was an idol he knew of, but the YouTuber emphasized to his viewers that he himself was a fan of K-Pop and knew of many K-Pop groups, including lesser known teams.
Finally, at the end of the video, the YouTuber reported a shocking update on the story: that the woman had gotten back together with her K-Pop idol ex-boyfriend.
Soon after this video began garnering attention on various online communities, Korean netizens began to speculate about the identity of the male K-Pop idol.
One netizen asked, "Who do you think this male idol is?", to which some replied,
"Probably some nugu idol that we don't know."
"If this is real and the idol's identity gets found out, it's the end for the entire group. Dating for 2 years, going all the way in the relationship, and another member hitting on the ex..."
"They got back together?? He better make sure he's never found out because if it happens, it's all over for him."
"Isn't it just a made up story for views?"
"The most common method for male K-Pop idols to ruin their careers : dating attention-seeking girlfriends."
"Based on what she revealed, they're not gonna last long even if they're back together now."
"The YouTuber could have hired someone and fabricated this whole thing."
"TXT, ENHYPEN, or RIIZE???"
"All I know is this attention-seeking girlfriend wants his identity to be found out so bad."
