In a surprising turn of events, one of the largest and most influential BTS fan accounts has decided to shut down following the recent DUI scandal involving SUGA.
The account, which has been a vital source of information, updates, and fan-driven content for millions of ARMYs worldwide, announced its closure through a final post that has left many fans in shock and disappointment.
ARMY52Hz was one of the most comprehensive fan websites that provided various information on music releases, linking the most popular streaming sites. Along with the social media account, ARMY52Hz also ran a website where fans would be able to search BTS song playlists using keywords.
Translation: "They tagged every BTS song with keywords and recommended songs that matched the keywords you wanted.
+ They also had a feature where you could create a playlist in your personal music app based on the recommended songs.
+ If someone accidentally heard a BTS song and thought, "Oh, are there more songs like this?" they could go to the site, search by title, and immediately get recommendations for similar songs.
Some fans even used to recommend this site when asked for BTS song recommendations."
However, following SUGA's latest DUI incident, the operator of the fan site left the message, "Everyone is suffering. We ask for a quick decision," and shut down all the accounts, including the website.
One netizen commented, "A large account that had been working with such dedication posted about the recent SUGA incident, and as a result, both their website and Twitter account were shut down today. This situation is inevitably a significant blow to the overall atmosphere of the fandom."
Other netizens commented:
"Seeing how things are going, it's hard for normal people to endure. It's time to stop idolizing and start living a good life. The deeper you get into idol fandom, the worse it seems to be..."
"Thank you so much, ARMY52Hz Team."
"That's what being an adult looks like."
"The ARMY52Hz Team took a lot of heat from fans, even being accused of being a company-run account, but you worked so hard. Now, leave this scene and rest well."
"The results were purely maintained through genuine fandom, but as they leave with their mental health shattered, people say 'intelligent ones leave the fandom early' instead of just thanking them."
"The ARMY52Hz Team went through a lot, dealing with all kinds of online harassment and plagiarism..."
"Thank you for everything during this time."
"Thank you so much, ARMY52Hz Team. You've worked so hard ㅠㅠ"
"Other fandoms took inspiration from what the ARMY52Hz Team was doing, even copying their logs and sources."
"Sigh, they must have been really disappointed; that's a normal response."
"If it were me, I'd delete the account too. What's with the fuss about handing things over? You should create your own; they act like it's their right."
