Noh Hong Chul recently had a surprising encounter with singer IU during his travels across the United States. He shared the experience in a new video on his YouTube channel titled "What Are the Odds of Running into IU in Chicago?"
In the video, Noh Hong Chul takes viewers along on his bike ride from Chicago to Los Angeles.
While in Chicago, he observed, "I saw a lot of Koreans at the observation deck who recognized me and asked for photos, which was quite a surprise. The next day, I learned why: IU was in town for a concert."
He continued, "I can't believe it. I planned this trip a year ago, and of all places, it's not LA or New York but Chicago. When I went to the concert venue, it felt like a Super Bowl event. The place was massive and sold out. There were plenty of Koreans and a significant number of international fans."
Reflecting on their first meeting, Noh Hong Chul reminisced, "The first time I met IU, she was a middle school student. I was taken aback by her test scores when I asked about them. What stands out to me is how choices shape our lives. IU chose not to focus on academics but followed her passion for music and look at where she is now. The IU I remember was a cute student, but now she's huge."
After her performance, Noh Hong Chul had the chance to catch up with her. They shared a warm greeting, and IU playfully remarked, "You look like a Chicagoan. Totally like a biker."
When Noh Hong Chul asked IU, "How are you feeling right now?" She responded, "It seems like Chicago is full of people who really know how to have a good time," sharing her enthusiasm about the event.
