Netizens react coldly to Suga's appearance as first BTS member to face police for DUI allegations.
Suga, who is facing allegations of riding an electric scooter under the influence, has become the first BTS member to stand before the police for such charges, and the reaction from netizens has been harsh.
Suga, currently serving as a public service worker, appeared at the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul at 7:45 PM on August 23 KST, after finishing his workday. He was seen entering the station wearing a black suit and with a somber expression.
Netizens have expressed their disappointment and criticism regarding Suga's appearance in connection with the DUI allegations:
"I spent a lot of money and gave a lot of support, celebrated his achievements as if they were my own, but this ending is bitter."
"He looks like a different person... Maybe he looks ugly because he did something wrong."
"Is that his skin tone without proper lighting? He came out early, huh... really."
"He doesn't look well. Why did you do it? Reflect on your actions."
"This is driving me crazy. Is this even real? Yoongi, just leave the group now, for real."
"I can't believe that's the same person I used to know... Please, just leave the group."
"When I think about it again, it's just... How could he not be more careful, knowing that even just breathing draws attention from all over the world? It's really sad."
"He looks like a typical middle-aged Korean man now."
"The police officer who first discovered him reportedly didn’t recognize him as Suga. I wouldn't have recognized him either."
Suga, who has been serving as a public service worker since September last year, is expected to be discharged from his duties in June next year.
