Legendary boyband g.o.d to appear as guests on KBS's 30th Anniversary Special for JYP
The iconic group g.o.d will be appearing as guests on KBS's major concert project, "KBS Grand Project - 30th Anniversary Special 'Entertainer JYP.'"
KBS announced on August 6 KST that g.o.d will be featured as guests on the "KBS Grand Project - 30th Anniversary Special 'Entertainer JYP'" (hereafter referred to as "Entertainer JYP").
Along with this announcement, a teaser video was released through KBS 2TV and the KBS Kpop YouTube channel. The video brought nostalgia to fans as it featured the audio of g.o.d's hit song "One Candle," written and composed by JYP, and ended with the exciting announcement of g.o.d's participation in the special.
JYP has maintained a close relationship with g.o.d since their debut, being the first boyband he produced. JYP was responsible for writing and composing many of g.o.d's biggest hits, including "Love and Remember," "Sorrow," "Lies," "One Candle," and "Road." During their peak, g.o.d sold over 1.84 million copies of their third album in 2000 and over 1.71 million copies of their fourth album in 2001, sweeping music awards across the three major broadcasting networks and establishing themselves as the nation's top group.
Last year, g.o.d reaffirmed their status as a national group with their exclusive KBS Chuseok special concert which filled 150 minutes with their hit songs.
Additionally, g.o.d solidified their "living legend" status by selling out all tickets for their upcoming solo concert "CHAPTER 0," set to take place from September 27 to 29 KST. This has heightened expectations for the collaboration stage between JYP and g.o.d, two legendary figures, on "Entertainer JYP."
Following TWICE, the first guests on the show, god's support for "Entertainer JYP" has generated further curiosity about who the next guest will be to join JYP in celebrating his 30th anniversary.
The recording of "KBS Grand Project - 30th Anniversary Special 'Entertainer JYP'" will take place at 7 p.m. on the 30th at KBS Hall.
