Actress Go Min Si recently opened up about what led her to pursue a career in acting. On August 20 KST, the YouTube channel "Netflix Korea" released an episode. The episode featured Go Min Si and Kim Yoon Seok, the lead actors of the upcoming Netflix series "In the Woods Where No One Lives," which is set to premiere on August 23rd KST. They joined hosts Chimchakman and Lee Chang Ho to share various stories.
During the show, Chimchakman expressed his admiration for Go Min Si's performance on "Jinny's Kitchen 2," saying, "You were so good as the golden intern. How do you manage to do your job so well?" Go Min Si modestly responded, "I was prepared, but having previously worked as a wedding planner, those skills translated into my role. To me, it wasn't that I was doing particularly well; it just felt natural because I was used to that kind of work."
Lee Chang Ho then humorously asked Go Min Si if she could drink a glass of water, noting that she seemed to avoid drinking water on "Jinny's Kitchen 2" to avoid needing the restroom. Kim Yoon Seok also complimented Go Min Si on her professionalism.
Later in the conversation, Go Min Si discussed what prompted her to start acting. "I used to think that if you didn't live in Seoul, you couldn't become an actor," she said. "One day, I suddenly thought, 'If I don't go to Seoul and try acting, I might live with regret for the rest of my life.' I realized that I had always wanted to act, even when I was very young, without consciously knowing it."
Go Min Si shared that she resigned from her job in her early twenties to pursue acting. "I don't know what gave me the courage. It was just a feeling," she recalled. "When I quit my job as a wedding planner, my boss asked, 'Why would you quit when you're doing so well? Why do you want to act?'"
Chimchakman jokingly asked if she was the Employee of the Month, to which Go Min Si playfully replied, "Yes, I was good at my job."
Go Min Si also talked about auditioning for roles in projects like "The Witch" and "Sweet Home." In response, Kim Yoon Seok offered some advice to aspiring actors, saying, "I want to take this opportunity to tell aspiring actors that even if you fail an audition, it doesn't mean you're not talented or capable. Don't let it lead to self-doubt."
