G-Dragon has gained trademark rights to his name from YG Entertainment.
According to reports on August 1, YG Entertainment has transferred rights for "G-Dragon," "GD," and similar variations to G-Dragon. It's reported the label made the decision without any compensation, and it was due to G-Dragon's iconic status as an artist and the fact that the name "G-Dragon" embodies his identity entirely.
