A former idol group member, 'A', has been sentenced to prison for illegally filming his girlfriend at the time during sexual intercourse.
On August 30 KST, the Seoul Western District Court sentenced 'A' to 1 year and 6 months in prison for illegal filming using a camera. 'A' will also undergo 40 hours of sexual violence rehabilitation programs and will be prohibited from working for 3 years at institutions related to children, adolescents, and people with disabilities. Citing concerns of flight risk, the court additionally ordered his detention immediately following the sentence.
Previously, 'A' was accused of filming various body parts of his girlfriend at the time, 'B', on 18 occasions during sexual intercourse between July of 2022 through May of 2023. 'A' even suggested that 'B' wear a blindfold during intercourse, before using a soundless camera app to film 'B' without consent. Yet, the court took into consideration that no footage had been distributed and that 'A' had no prior convictions for similar offenses in determining his sentence.
Meanwhile, 'A' promoted in a 5-member male idol group between 2017 and 2019, after which he halted activities due to health reasons.
