BTS's Jin to appear in first variety show since military discharge.
The first preview for MBC's variety show "If You Rest, It's a Relief" (hereafter Fookda Haeng) featuring BTS member Jin, the first BTS member to complete his military service, has been released, generating significant attention.
In the teaser, which aired at the end of the August 12th broadcast of Fookda Haeng, Jin is seen transforming into an island worker. Accompanied by his close friend, B1A4's Sandeul, Jin heads to a deserted island for his first appearance on a terrestrial TV show since his discharge from the military.
Jin, who completed his military service on June 12 KST, has been active in events such as BTS's 11th-anniversary celebration "2024 Festa" and the torch relay for the "2024 Paris Olympics."
In the preview, Jin and Sandeul face a series of challenges on a 0.5-star deserted island. On the boat to the island, Jin spreads his arms wide to Sandeul and declares, "I'm going to catch something this big," showing his enthusiasm for fishing. Once on the island, Jin reveals his natural worker DNA as he dives into the laborious tasks ahead.
However, Jin's confidence quickly gives way to comedic mishaps as he coughs after eating something, drops multiple bamboo sticks while carrying them, and even hits his finger while hammering, hinting at a series of humorous moments.
The challenges don't stop there, as the sea proves equally unforgiving. While searching for shellfish in the mudflats, Jin is tricked by an empty shell and struggles to catch seafood in the stormy sea, eventually exclaiming, "I can't see anything."
Island expert Ahn Jung Hwan provides one-on-one coaching to Jin, who eventually manages to catch something, prompting cheers. Finally, after securing some food, Jin boldly declares, "Wow, it feels like the whole world is mine!" The preview leaves viewers curious about what seafood Jin has caught and how he will adapt to life on the deserted island.
Fookda Haeng, featuring the "worldwide handsome" Jin, is set to air on August 19 at 9 PM KST.
