Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding his past propofol use, singer Wheesung has announced a comeback planned for this winter.

On July 3, Wheesung shared on his social media, "The REALSLOW 1st album I'm currently preparing will be entirely rated 19+. It's about 40% complete and is targeted for release this winter."

He further added, "Given its explicit content, I advise listeners who are generally averse to provocative media not to anticipate it. This isn't an unusual direction for me, as I've released such R&B numbers since my debut, but I wanted to give a heads-up."

Wheesung faced legal issues in 2019 for habitual propofol use, leading to a suspended prison sentence. His last album was the digital single "Think About It," released in March 2019. Despite his legal troubles, he continued to attract public attention by performing at year-end concerts in 2021 and participating in drama OSTs, actions that were criticized as not aligning with a period of self-reflection.

In July last year, he also posted a concerning message on social media about his mental health, worrying fans.

Wheesung's announcement of his new album marks his official return to the entertainment industry after nearly five years. There is curiosity about the music he will bring and how the public will react to his comeback.
