Entertainer Song Eun Yi shares her dating experiences.
On July 30 KST, YouTube channel 'Vivo TV' uploaded a video titled "Riding in the Same Car with Queen of Boiled Chicken, Baek Ji Young | EP.22."
Song Eun Yi commented to Baek Ji Young, "When people see you perform, they are deeply moved. They say you sing as if you've been shot even though you haven't."
Baek Ji Young responded, "I've never sung a song based on my own experiences. I talk to lyricists and discuss the meaning behind the lyrics. I wonder what state the person is in, whether they've given up or not, whether it's the love of a pretty woman or an unattractive one, whether they're rich. I analyze thoroughly and empathize."
Song Eun Yi shared, "My album 'Imagination' came out in 2000. Kang Hyun Min from Loveholics wrote a very sad ballad called 'I Am As I Am.' I loved that song and sang it earnestly. But he asked me, 'Eun Yi, haven't you experienced much love?' I was surprised and thought, 'How did he know?'"
Baek Ji Young asked, "Doesn't everyone know you haven't had many romantic experiences?" Song Eun Yi replied, "I was shocked. I realized I wasn't emotionally conveying the song well. I struggled a lot that day and couldn't finish the recording. Keeping rhythm and pitch is basic, but conveying emotion is really hard."
Baek Ji Young then asked, "Do you have a boyfriend or anyone you're interested in?" Song Eun Yi laughed, "I love this question. No one asks me this anymore. It's been a while since I got asked such a question."
When asked if she had someone she was flirting with, Song Eun Yi replied, "No. I mostly meet the same people every day. I don't put in any effort in that direction."
She added, "I don't feel the urge to date right now. When I was younger, many people I dated proposed to me soon after we started dating, which felt burdensome. It happened when I was 20, 26, and 30."
Song Eun Yi explained, "Working with colleagues is so fun. Dating feels like something I need to put extra effort into. Working is natural and enjoyable, so I haven't experienced the true taste of romance."
On the other hand, Baek Ji Young remarked, "One of the best things about being married is not having to date. It's so comfortable. Dating involves giving excitement, playing hard-to-get, and being cautious. I'm glad I don't have to do that anymore."
