The film "Because I Hate Korea", which is set to be released on August 28 KST, forms a special bond with those who were born and raised in Korea.

"Because I Hate Korea" tells the story of Gye Na (played by Go Ah Sung), who, in her late 20s, suddenly leaves her job, family, and boyfriend behind to find her happiness alone in New Zealand. Based on the novel of the same name by Jang Kang Myung, the film is written and directed by Jang Kun Jae, known for his unique filmography such as "A Midsummer's Fantasia."

Actress Go Ah-sung impressively portrays Gye Na, a character who takes control of her life. Additionally, Joo Jong Hyuk and Kim Woo Gyeom vividly depict other aspects of youth.

The provocative title, which refers to a specific country, universally expresses the struggles of the younger generation and honestly reflects our lives today. Through the story of Gye-na, the film serves as a platform for young people to understand their concerns and prompts other generations to reflect on their past passions and true happiness.

Director Jang Kun Jae stated, "I read the novel the year it was published. It was set in the midst of a period of significant change in Korean society, and although I am different from Gye-na, there were parts that resonated with me, which made me want to turn it into a story."

"Because I Hate Korea," a film that will captivate all generations with its unique empathy, will be released in theaters nationwide on August 28 KST.
