Rapper Ch1tkey has reportedly passed away at the age of 21.
On July 31, reports stated the underground rapper was on a roof doing a social media challenge when he fell to his death. One of Ch1tkey's acquaintances stated, "I think everyone's shocked. To explain, Ch1tkey and I have always liked challenges. This time, we were trying to do a prank on a roof. One of us promised our viewers that if we gained a certain amount of followers on Instagram, Cht1key would jump off a roof. When the follower count hit that amount, Ch1tkey and another acquaintance stood on the edge of the roof. Ch1tkey was supposed to pretend to fall and then end the stream by giving a random viewer a gift, but he slipped and fell."
The acquaintance further alleged Cht1key was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. They stated, "He fell from a 5-story building and landed on a surface in the middle. A friend went to check on him thinking he was joking, but Cht1key was unresponsive so they called the police. Ch1tkey was pronounced dead at the hospital."
Though the reports have yet to be confirmed, Cht1key's girlfriend has wrote a tribute to her late boyfriend on social media. She wrote as follows:
"I believe you will live freely and well in the world you dreamed of, no matter what.
I always confidently said that you will rise higher.
You had many dreams and aspirations, and you were very ambitious.
My dear Junhyuk, you went through so much hardship during that time.
Let's meet often in our dreams.
I am very thankful that I was your first love.
I am so lucky that you were my first love.
Today marks 297 days, almost 300 days.
Thank you for loving me and being sweet to me every single day.
My puppy, I will live cherishing your memory forever.
I love you, oppa.
Even though I am overwhelmed with emotions and tears, I still can't calm down.
I've cried so much that my head hurts, but I believe you went to a better place.
Thinking about you, loving you, feeling sorry and thankful.
Please be happy wherever you are, Junhyuk."
