Mukbang YouTuber Tzuyang, whose real name is Park Jung Won, experienced a dramatic surge in her subscriber count, gaining 100,000 new followers overnight. This sudden increase comes in the wake of an extortion scandal involving several YouTubers who allegedly threatened to expose her past.
The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office's Criminal Division 3 has taken up the case, investigating claims that YouTubers ' Gu Je Yeok,' 'Jeonggukjin,' and 'Caracula' attempted to extort billions of won from Tzuyang. Audio recordings released by the YouTube channel 'Garosero Research Institute' revealed conversations where these YouTubers discussed plans to force Tzuyang into retirement by threatening to reveal damaging information about her past.
In response to the scandal, Tzuyang conducted a live stream titled 'I will tell you everything,' where she disclosed details about her troubled past, including being threatened and assaulted by her ex-boyfriend, identified only as A. She explained that he had forced her to work in a bar and took all her earnings while also threatening to distribute illegally recorded videos of her.
Korean netizens are continuing to show their support for the YouTuber by subscribing to her channel. They commented:
