MONSTA X’s Shownu and NCT127 members compare their eating habits

Shownu from the K-pop group MONSTA X and Jungwoo, Taeil, and Johnny from NCT127 discussed each other's eating habits.

On July 27 KST, the YouTube channel ‘KBS Kpop’ released a video titled 'Dining vs. Sipping | NOPOGY EP.3.' In the video, NCT127 members Taeil and Johnny appeared as guests and showcased their entertaining conversational skills.

On this day, Shownu and Jungwoo reunited for the filming of the web variety show ‘NOPOGY.’ This content follows them as they visit various famous eateries. This time, they visited a restaurant known for its fish dishes, specifically serving various menus with the fish 'Deokja.'

When additional dishes were ordered, Johnny expressed his difficulty by saying, "Honestly, I'm quite full." Taeil felt the same way. Jungwoo tried to persuade them, saying, "There’s still a lot to come," but added, "Our group is known for being 'small eaters.'" Indeed, NCT127 members are called 'tasters' because they would buy only two donuts for all nine members to share.

On the other hand, Shownu from MONSTA X can eat a whole large pizza by himself. Jungwoo emphasized, "Our group orders a lot of different things," and "We spend nearly 100,000 won just on snacks for all the members." He also mentioned that they spend a lot on coffee.

Shownu remarked, "If you were in our team, you’d get scolded a lot," expressing his surprise. He revealed that MONSTA X’s monthly food expenses amount to several million won. Previously, MONSTA X confessed on JTBC’s variety show 'Knowing Brothers' that their monthly food expenses are around 20 million won.

Fans left various comments on the contrasting eating habits of the two groups. Jungwoo read a comment from a passing MONBEBE (MONSTA X’s official fandom name) saying, "Even if our group combines all the food we eat, it seems like we don’t eat as much as Shownu alone," which made everyone laugh.

NCT127 members, feeling somewhat prideful, shared a story. They said that when three NCT members eat four servings of pork belly, they feel full. They also mentioned that when two members eat 2.5 servings, they feel self-conscious. Shownu responded, "That's really serious," looking puzzled.

MONSTA X members confessed that they rarely see leftover food. Shownu admitted, "I tend to overeat," and "I eat again after resting for 4-5 hours." He added that sometimes he doesn’t feel well after eating too much, to which Taeil jokingly replied, "You must be adored by the elders," causing laughter.
